After family time over the holidays, this is a new drabble on the "Road to Zanzibar". Previous ones are here.

"It's different." Dawn held on to the roof of the Jeep.

"Different, how?" Xander kept his eye on the road.

"I had this mental place of jungles and giant apes and lost tribes and yeah, we had stuff like that, but now we're on our way to Dar es Salaam, on an international highway and with cell towers and... OK, the highway is more potholes than tarmac, but..." Dawn gestured helplessly.

"Doesn't fit into the box labelled Africa, right?"

"Yeah."

"Just wait. Boxes fade."

"But we'll be in Zanzibar soon!"

"Who said you had to leave then?"

"Oh."

Xander smiled.
